ABOUT

Wendy Cagle, MBA, has spent the last 21 years in business and economic development assisting businesses in Western North Carolina through her work with the Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC). She is currently an assistant professor at Western Carolina University teaching entrepreneurship and marketing. 

 

Wendy’s areas of expertise include accounting and financial analysis, small business development, and executive training and development. She is a certified facilitator and works closely with management groups to develop strategic plans and action planning strategies that promote growth opportunities. Other areas of facilitation include team building, change management and succession planning.

 

As the Regional Director of the SBTDC at WCU, she directed a team of business professionals in two offices that served a 14 county region building a network of business resources and gaining experience in a variety of industries.  In addition, she has served as a board member for various economic development agencies and non-profits in the region. She has also been an investor for two start-ups in the region and personally involved with several business ventures including her family business for over fifteen years.
